Blackbird Arts is seeking a part-time teaching artist

for 2013 Summer Programs

Details

Blackbird Arts is seeking a teacher for its 2013 Summer Camps with a focus on early childhood. Programs run four mornings, M-Th from 9:00am-12:00pm.

The ideal candidate is experienced teaching art to young children ages 3-6 years and has a proven ability to develop art curriculum that is flexible and engaging.  They should have in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of media and techniques and have a thorough understanding of early childhood development.  Montessori Primary training/experience in a classroom is preferred, along with a degree in Arts Education or Fine Arts. The teaching artist will be responsible for developing plans for classes, structuring collaborative projects, and identifying creative strengths in students. This position has the potential to expand to other age groups and offsite programs.
